The Button Editor Window
Edit and Play modes:

In Edit Mode:
It shows you an up-to-date view of what your project looks like. It also allows you to visually arrange and resize buttons.

In Play Mode:
It allows you to test the project as it would run inside a browser. You can easily switch between play and edit mode by using the switch in the top-left corner of the 1 Cool Button Tool window.

Note for Flash files:
Animation timing will differ between the play mode and projects saved as a Flash file - it is recommended that you test all animation timing using the Test Flash File option accessible through the Build Flash Tab. The Opacity setting, Fade and rotate actions can only been seen in your browser.

Resize Handles:

The resize handles indicate which button is currently selected. You can click on a button to select it, and display its properties in the Button Properties tab.

If the buttons are arranged in a row or column the resize handles are greyed-out, because buttons are arranged automatically in these modes.

If you are specifying the position and size of each button, the resize handles are displayed white and you can use them to stretch and scale each button. You can also move each button by clicking and dragging the center of the button.

Arrow Keys:

The arrow keys can be used to fine tune the position of a button. First click on a button to select it, then use the arrow keys to adjust its position.

Resizing the Project Area:

If you are specifying the position and size of each button, you can resize the project area simply by resizing the Button Editor Window. If the buttons are arranged in a row or column the Button Editor Window cannot be resized because the project size is calculated automatically in these modes. Alternatively, you can resize the project by entering the pixel dimensions directly.
